Research Interests
Research in my lab focuses on 3-D printing of batteries, fuel cells and supercapacitors. Towards that aim we develop printable electrocatalytic materials. We then formulate inks containing the active materials, and use inkjet and aerosol jet printing for layer by layer construction of electrochemical devices. Finally, we study post-printing processing protocols to optimize device performance.

Printing of electrochemical devices is part of the rapidly growing field of additive manufacture, and we have recently reviewed it for Advanced Engineering Materials.

Teaching Interests
I teach General Chemistry I and II, Physical Chemistry, and Instrumental Methods of Analysis. My pedagogical interests include integration of Application-Based Service Learning into chemistry laboratory courses, development of methods to teach scientific writing, and classroom use of advanced data analysis software.
